Are Consumers being misled by Best-Buy tables?
During the Building Societies Association (BSA) annual conference, there was a large amount of criticism pointed towards the way in which the tables can be manipulated.
The Best-Buy tables which are often included in mainstream press, as well as used by industry professionals, are often manipulated by Lenders who want to be at the top of the list.
Those who spoke on this were not blaming the tables themselves, however it was pointed out by , Clive Briault, Managing Director of retail markets at the FSA, any table can be misleading if it is looked at in isolation.
